In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) and the Sorenson Impact Center (SIC) housed at the David S. Eccles School of Business, are proud to announce the launch of the Innovative Finance for Translational Research program.

The Offices of the VPR and the SVPHS Research Unit have co-sponsored an internal seed grant program in data science research as part of the recently announced One Utah Data Science Hub. Researchers can request up to $50,000 in seed grant funding to develop pilot data and/or resources with the potential to impact data-centric activities and generate successful external funding applications. Applications will be due by 11:59pm (MST) on Monday, November 7th, 2022.

To address short- and long-term helium shortages, there is a need for new and innovative helium alternative technology. To that end, we invite researchers at the University of Utah to apply for seed grant funding (up to $35,000) to develop helium alternative technology.

The Office of the Vice President for Research is hosting two informative virtual training sessions covering US export control regulations and Federal foreign influence concerns. Attendees will be provided with a practical orientation on export control and foreign influence issues in the context of research and related service activities.

The Office of the Vice President for Research is hosting the Fourth Annual F&A Town Hall on October 19, 2022, from 12-1 pm via Zoom. The town hall is open to all faculty, staff, post-docs, and students, and will consist of a presentation and open Q&A session.
