Faculty Small Grant Program – Spring 2022 Cycle

The Faculty Small Grant Program (FSGP) seeks to support small grants of $6,000 to $10,000 in budget. Faculty members who hold at least a .50 FTE appointment are eligible to apply. All applications must be submitted using the InfoReady system.

Starting in Spring 2022, the FSGP will have two application tracks: 

  • Track 1: Small grants to facilitate scholarly publications and creative research 
    Faculty awarded under Track 1 will receive up to $6,000 to support scholarly publications and creative research. 
  • Track 2: Small grants for pilot projects and external funding proposal submission
    Faculty awarded under Track 2 will receive up to $15,000 to support pilot projects and/or external funding proposal submissions.

Research Instrumentation Fund – Spring 2022 Cycle

The Research Instrumentation Fund (RIF) provides support to faculty and core facilities for new equipment purchasesor to replace/upgrade existing research equipment. The VPR Office runs two cycles of the RIF Program – one for Fall semester, and one for Spring semester. Equipment purchased with RIF funds is meant to be shared as broadly as possible and used to facilitate externally funded research and scholarship. The Research Instrumentation Fund is available to Tenure-line faculty and Career-line faculty who hold at least a .75 FTE appointment at time of submission and recognized University of Utah core facilities. One application per applicant only. Only core facility directors should initiate core equipment requests. Only one request per core facility each cycle.
