One U Research Refresh Listening Town Halls

Announcement

The Office of the Vice President for Research is holding multiple listening town halls to garner feedback from the research community. Each town hall will begin with a brief overview of the U Campus Research Unit and One U Research Refresh initiatives followed by an open Q&A session for feedback and thoughts from the research community. Each of the town halls will cover the same topics and is open to all faculty, staff, post-docs, and students. Please attend the session that works best for your schedule.

VPR COVID - 19 Update: January 31, 2022

Announcement

The Salt Lake County mask mandate is no long in effect. However, all people are asked to wear well-fitting masks indoors or “when queueing outdoors while on campus”. Masks are the first line of defense when you are around others, even if you are vaccinated. Well-fitting surgical masks, KN95s, or N95s protect better than cloth masks. To keep the number of cases low, members of the campus community are being asked to follow these protocols:

Dr. Jakob Jensen is named new Interim Associate Vice President for Research

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jakob D. Jensen, Ph.D., as the Interim Associate Vice President for Research (AVPR), effective January 24, 2022. Dr. Jensen will assume the role from Dr. Erin Rothwell who is currently serving as the Interim Vice President for Research (VPR). Dr. Jensen brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the U’s research enterprise as both an academic leader and renowned researcher. As interim AVPR, he will oversee the Office of Sponsored Projects, Pre-Award team, Research Education, and Bonderman Field Station at Rio Mesa.
