The Taft Nicholson Center is accepting applications for its Summer Faculty Fellow Residency Program. Residencies are available to faculty in all disciplines for 1-3 weeks of dedicated writing time for scholarly pursuits of research or creative projects. Fellowships are available July 1 through July 31. Faculty who have held a U of U faculty appointment for 1 year or more are eligible to apply. These fellowships are designed to provide intensive, dedicated, writing time for faculty to work on their research/creative agendas.

The STEM Ambassador Program (STEMAP) is recruiting graduate student researchers for the upcoming Spring 2023 STEMAP public engagement training cohort.

ALL grant applications or renewals that generate Scientific Data, with due dates on or after January 25, 2023, must now include a robust and detailed plan for how PI's will manage and share data during the project period. This includes information on data storage, access policies/procedures, preservation, metadata standards, distribution approaches, and more.

Nominations for the 2023 Distinguished Mentor Award are now open. The Graduate School established the Distinguished Mentor Award in 2006 to honor and encourage the considerable efforts and accomplishments of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The Distinguished Mentor Award is for faculty from any discipline.

The Research Instrumentation Fund (RIF) provides support to faculty and core facilities for new equipment purchases, or to replace/upgrade existing research equipment. Equipment purchased with RIF funds is meant to be shared as broadly as possible and should be used to facilitate externally funded research and scholarship. Funding decisions are based on merit of the proposal, demonstrated need, impact of the equipment on the UofU Research Community, and availability of funds.
