Research Education - REd

The Office of Research Education (REdprovides “comprehensive training and learning opportunities and resources for faculty, students and staff engaged in responsible conduct of research at the University of Utah.”  The primary goals of the REd Office are to: 

  • Offer up-to-date courses and seminars linked to the research enterprise
  • Ensure that faculty, students, and staff develop the necessary skills to implement best practices for research
  • Provide faculty, students, and staff with access to resources and tools to implement best practices for research

Multi-Regional Clinical Trials (MRCT): Health Literacy

 Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the research context has become recognized as a crucial component of ethical research activities. In this series of discussions provided by Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center (MRCT), participants will develop an in-depth understanding about how the ethics and principles of health literacy link to EDI and are applied to the research life cycle. This series of classes provides specific examples of health literacy best practices applied to different types of studies, information on integrating participant feedback into study material development, and how to share research results with study participants and the larger community.

  • Health Literacy in Action – Friday, March 19th, 1:00pm – 2:30pm
  • Health Literacy Applied – Friday, April 16th, 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Grant Writing Workshop: The National Science Foundation (NSF) – CAREER Program

 This workshop will detail the specific needs of CAREER proposals and discuss the institutional resources available to support education and assessment plans. Please encourage tenure-line junior faculty to participate in this workshop.
