VPR COVID-19 Update – August 2, 2021

Dear Research Community,

We would like to echo the U's Senior Leadership message regarding safety precautions that will help us prevent the spread of COVID-19. As transmission rates are rising throughout the state, we highly encourage the U Research community to do the following:

  • Schedule a COVID-19 vaccination on MyChart,, or Vaccines.Gov.
We highly encourage individuals to get a COVID-19 vaccination if you have not already done so. This is the single best way to stop the COVID resurgence in its tracks.
  • If you are an unvaccinated, get weekly asymptomatic coronavirus testing here.
This is a helpful way to protect yourself and those around you because asymptomatic individuals can unknowingly spread the coronavirus to others.
  • Follow CDC guidelines and wear face masks when indoors.
As the transmission rates continue to rise, we encourage you to wear face masks indoors while visiting/working in U campus buildings/spaces.

For more information, please read the full message from Senior Leadership here.

We understand this may feel like a step back, but we know we can work together to keep virus transmission rates low once again in our local communities. We cannot express enough how much we appreciate the high level of dedication and resilience we’ve seen from our research community throughout this pandemic. Thank you for all that you do in helping us keep our research spaces safe and healthy at the U.
