Predatory Publishers

Have you been contacted by an editor of a journal inviting you to submit a paper for publication in their fantastic cutting-edge journal? Do you know how to determine if it is just another predatory journal wanting your manuscript for a fee in a journal with no ranking and questionable peer review? The Marriott Library can help. Cabells has developed a database of predatory journals… or as they call it a “Journal Blacklist.” At this point in time they have discovered 12,977 such publications. You can find Cabells in the Library’s  alphabetical list of databases under the letter “C.” While you are at it, take a moment to review the Library Guides on Predatory Publishing and How to Choose Where to Publish.
