UofU Temporary Policy on Universal Masking for Human Subjects Research Related to COVID-19 Outbreak

Dear Colleagues,

The Office of the Vice President for Research is providing guidance related to human subjects-related research visits to align clinical research practice with the required Universal Masking Policies for all clinical and non-clinical faculty, staff and administrators.

  1. It is the responsibility of the Study PI to ensure that appropriate PPE, including masks for all staff, is available to the coordinator or research staff.
  2. Essential research visits, those with therapeutic benefit and performed in the University Hospitals and Clinics or in other areas of the Institution, MUST comply with Universal Masking policies.
  3. In-person non-essential research visits should cease.
