Invitation to Apply to the STEM Ambassador Program

The STEM Ambassador Program (STEMAP) is accepting applications from faculty, post docs, graduate students, and staff in STEM fields for its 2020 science communication and public engagement cohort. Through STEMAP, scientists design and implement public engagement of science activities in non-traditional venues to reach those who cannot or do not engage with science through conventional outlets, such as by visiting a museum or science center. STEMAP engagement activities have occurred in a range of venues, including correctional facilities, senior centers, an affordable daycare center, and a cooking school. STEMAP offers a workshop series and one-on-one support to guide scientists in designing innovative engagement activities that can fulfill National Science Foundation Broader Impacts requirements and help scientists build communication skills. Applications can be found HERE, and are due by December 9th, 2019.
