Former Staff, Faculty, and Affiliate UMail deactivation starting April 2019

Starting in April 2019, University Information Technology (UIT) began disabling access to UMail accounts of former staff, faculty, and affiliates. This action does not impact UMail accounts held by individuals awarded emeritus status. Account access will be disabled in batches over a period of several weeks. Affected individuals are being contacted prior to deactivation and given information regarding how to submit questions or concerns. Former employees/affiliates who feel they need to maintain affiliate status are being instructed to contact their U Human Resources representative or sponsoring employee/department with whom they currently work to see if they are eligible for affiliate status. If they do not have or acquire a current role at the University for which a department hires or sponsors them, their email will be disabled.
