State Regulatory Inspection of Radioactive Material Labs

The University of Utah's radioactive material licenses are inspected annually by the Utah State Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control, with the next inspection expected the week of June 24, 2019.  All Radioactive Material Permit Holders should have received a notification from Environmental Health and Safety regarding the inspection, as well as a packet of documents that include an inspection checklist and several Job Aids. If you are working in a Radioactive Material use area, and have not received this packet of information, please contact the EHS at 801-581-6141 or the Radiation Analyst assigned to your areas. 


Please note that the State inspectors could show up unannounced at any lab using radioactive material.  If the inspectors do arrive in your area, be sure to require that they identify themselves, and then please contact EHS at 1-6141 so that we can come to your location and accompany you directly.
