The Alfred P. Sloan foundations seeks nominations of outstanding early-career faculty who have the potential to revolutionize their fields of study. The Foundation intends to award two-year fellowships to 126 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field.
The 2020 Sloan Research Fellows will receive fellowships in the amount of $75,000.
Candidates must work in the fields of chemistry, computer science, economics, mathematics, molecular biology, neuroscience, ocean sciences, or physics, and must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in one of those, or a related field. Candidates must be tenure-track, though untenured, as of September 16, 2019 and a Candidate’s faculty position must carry a regular teaching obligation.
In order to be considered for a Sloan Research Fellowship, a candidate must have a letter of nomination from a department head or other senior researcher. Submissions unaccompanied by a nomination letter from a senior researcher are not accepted. Deadline for submission is September 15, 2019.
More than one candidate from a department may be nominated, but no more than three. Please coordinate your candidature through the Associate Dean for Research in your college or contact Chris Ostrander.
