The academic community recognizes an increasing need to foster interdisciplinary research to address problems and questions that span more than a single field of knowledge. The National Science Foundation has issued a call for proposals regarding Growing Convergence Research. The deadline for these proposals is February 20, 2020. Please join Dr. Ken Smith and Dr. Rick Forster for an information and ideas exchange.
The National Science Foundation has released a Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) for its pilot NSF Convergence Accelerator (C-Accel) activity, which aims to fund approximately 50 Phase 1 projects at up to $1 million each, with proposals due in the spring of 2019 and projects to start no later than the fall. In 2020, Phase 1 projects will be eligible to apply for Phase 2 C-Accel support, for up to $5 million.
Extramural Funding Opportunities include grant programs, open nominations and grant associated webinars to leverage external dollars for research projects without going through the limited submissions process. The competitions outlined in this section are open calls for state and government funding opportunities.
