Research Administration Assessment: Survey Response Needed from All Researchers and Research Administration


A key objective for the University of Utah is to provide an effective infrastructure to serve faculty and researchers engaged in seeking, applying for, receiving, and managing competitively awarded grant funding. Starting next month, the University of Utah will begin working with Huron Consulting Group to assess the university’s administration of externally funded proposals and awards.

F&A Distribution and Usage: Resources from Town Halls

The Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) recently conducted two town hall events on a new Facilities and Administration (F&A) Distribution & Usage strategic initiative. Thank you to our research community for attending those town halls, and for providing your very useful perspectives and feedback. In an effort to be transparent and promote a culture of fairness for our entire research community, the VPR Office has posted several resources on the main VPR website, including the FY20 F&A Town Hall presentation, a F&A Guiding principles and summary, a graduate student tuition guidance document, and the F&A Task Force review and recommendations report.

Research Education offers training and instruction through several methods to support your individual profession needs, including Live Instruction, Online Classes, Best Practice Roundtables, and many Special Events including the Research Administrators’ Network meetings. These trainings are a free service that provide professional development opportunities for all faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, students, and members of the University research community.
