New Grant Development Specialist for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Research

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mercedes Ward as a new Grant Development Specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR). Dr. Ward will support research strategic planning and grant development in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at the University of Utah, effective July 1, 2021.

Announcement - Associate Vice President for Research, Dr. Diane Pataki

I am excited to announce that Dr. Diane Pataki has accepted a new position as the Director of the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Pataki will be transitioning her duties over the coming months and officially stepping down in her current role as Associate Vice President for Research (AVPR) effective September 30, 2021.

Call for Applications - R01 Writing Groups

Submitting a first successful R01 is a major challenge. The University's KL2 program, a part of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, is again organizing R01 writing groups that will include up to five NIH defined new investigators who are pursuing their first R01 NIH award (or equivalent). Each group will be headed by one or two senior faculty members with extensive success with NIH awards and study section reviewer experience.
