Vice President's Clinical and Translational (VPCAT) Research Scholars Program


We are inviting junior faculty committed to careers in clinical or translational research to apply for the 2023-2024 Cohort of the Vice President’s Clinical and Translational (VPCAT) Research Scholars Program. The VPCAT Program is a competitive, 2-year mentoring program that offers intensive mentorship and support to primarily Instructor or Assistant Professor-level faculty members from all colleges and schools within the Health Sciences, the Colleges of Mines and Earth Sciences, Social and Behavioral Science, and Social Work. Interested applicants not a member of the aforementioned groups should contact Erin Wachs regarding eligibility. Applicants should be engaged in clinical and translational research and aspire to achieve research independence as a principal investigator.

Corporate Sponsored Extramural Funding Opportunities


The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation have recently launched Phase 1 of the LymeX Diagnostics Prize, a $10 million competition to accelerate the development of Lyme disease diagnostics. Though an estimated 476,000 Americans are diagnosed and treated for Lyme each year, the true number of infections remains unknown.
