Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) Funding Opportunities
Extramural Funding
The VPR Office is pleased to share Department of Defense (DoD)-aligned initiatives that could benefit your teams. Shared opportunities will offer pathways to advance innovative research, foster collaboration, and secure impactful funding. Please contact Jim McDonough, Executive Director for DoD Research with questions.
Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) Funding Opportunities
The University of Utah is now a member of MTEC and therefore eligible to compete for funding opportunities. Very uniquely, the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium is a 501(c)(3) biomedical technology consortium that is internationally dispersed, collaborating with multiple government agencies under a 10-year renewable Other Transaction Agreement with the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command. The consortium focuses on the development of medical solutions that protect, treat, and optimize the health and performance of U.S. military personnel and civilians. Last year, the consortium surpassed the $1 Billion mark in awards since its inception.
MTEC just released their FY 2025 Multi-Topic Call for proposals (found HERE) that our University of Utah AME Lab team is already helping Investigators respond to. If others are interested in submitting a pre-proposal, we strongly encourage you to reach out to Colonel (U.S. Army, Ret.) Jim McDonough, Executive Director for DoD Research. Jim is best reached via email (jim.mcdonough@utah.edu).
