The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services is calling for more research on “diseases of isolation”—including suicide, depression, alcoholism, and addiction.
In response, the Suicide Research Working Group, the Applied Medical & Engineering (AME) Lab, and the Office of the Vice President for Research are hosting a 90-minute lightning talk event to highlight related work at the U, explore emerging funding opportunities, and build research teams ready to respond.
⚡ Lightning Talk Details:
- 3–4 slides, 3–5 minutes per presenter
- Share current research or ideas
- Collaborate across disciplines to develop new research aims
- Space is limited—indicate interest and upload slides via the RSVP form or email.
Researchers, clinicians, community collaborators, and others interested in addressing the effects of isolation are encouraged to attend.
